Glad this kind of garbage gets funding while things that are actually important (like getting renewable enrgy to work for the campus) are forgotten.
That entire stadium should be torn down and the rubble melted into something useful. If any of the obese, spoiled fans have something to whine about, their SUVs and motorhomes should be added to the rubble.
I know you'll probably never read this blog again, so I don't really need to respond.
Maybe check out the Kelley Engineering building that was built as a green building. Or the world recognized Nuclear Engineering program that could provide a new generation of safer nuclear energy. Or the civil engineering program that's working on the electric car.
Life is about having fun, too. Sports provide an outlet that allow us to focus on things like saving the environment for the other parts of our life.
Not only that, but sports give school pride which in turn brings in more students and more $$$ to other parts of the school. In case you didn't notice, there's a ton of research going on at OSU and a lot of new buildings on the education/research side as well.
So get off your high horse and instead of complaining about everything, find something that you can do to improve the situation and help in your own way. Encourage people to do the right thing without pissing them off in the process.
As a fan of the Oregon Ducks, I doubt very seriously that Bean-dip Stadium will ever come close to the grandeur and splendor of Autzen Stadium...the loudest stadium Lloyd Carr...head coach of the Michigan Wolverines... has ever been in. Go Ducks!!!
Of course, we all know that Beavers fans suffer from Duck Envy!!! Mike

Jason, Jason, Jason...you've got it the other way around. It is the Beavers who try to convince themselves that they are better than the Ducks. But at least were not Dawgs fans!!! Mike

It's all a matter of perspective, am I right?
I gotta say, your previous post sounds like a sales pitch to me. Who uses "grandeur and splendor" in a sentence? Now that I think about it, their uniforms are a bit clown-like...but I digress.
Here, I'll give it a try:
Saturday! Saturday! Saturday! Come to Reser Stadium! It's new and improved! More comfortable seats! Biggest scoreboard in the Pac-10!
Hmm, maybe OSU should do more of that...
I'm with you on the Dawg fans, but recently they have been fun to pick on. Cause they suck. At football. Did I mention they were bad?
