Oregon State hoops gets pounded on CBS Sportline

Kind of a weird assessment from Gregg Doyel over at CBSSportline.com. Maybe that's why it's called the morning knee-jerk.

CBS Sportsline: Monday Morning Knee-Jerk: What moron picked Texas?

Best team: Duke. That 97-66 win against No. 2 Texas was reminiscent of Illinois' early season blitzkriegs a year ago. Wow. Everyone who thought Texas was going to win, raise your hand. (It's going to be hard typing the rest of this with one hand.)

Worst state: Oregon. The University of Oregon is a mid-major capable only of beating other mid-majors -- and Oregon State isn't even capable of that. The Ducks were blown out by 30 by Illinois, while the Beavers were crushed at Portland, an ignoble bookend to their earlier blowout loss at Tennessee Tech. Maybe Oregon and Oregon State can meet in the NIT. Assuming either of them can get to the NIT.

His definition of mid-major must be different than mine. If you play in a top league and make it to the NIT, are you a mid-major? Strange. But come on, there's got to be a worse state than Oregon. What about Delaware or something?
