Utah Shocks OSU, Special Teams Still a Problem

Skocked. I can't believe we lost that game. It felt exactly like a midseason game of the last two years where we take a few shots and come out victorious in the end. Well, maybe Alexsis Serna was the reason for that.

The kicking game hurt us bad in that game. Missing an extra point is almost unforgivable. And that sent us on a spiral of 2-point tries that were unsuccessful (which by the way I hope we never do again.). There could have been redemption by hitting a 42 yard field goal in the second half (almost automatic for Serna), but nope.

I think the coaches have to take a little blame on this one. Going for two twice was not necessary. In fact, make one of those extra points and we're up by one and they might have onsides kicked or at least we would have had the opportunity to run the clock out with one first down. Also, the final drive clock management was poor. Just get to OT. Why give them enough time to drive down and get a FG? Especially when you know our punter isn't going to rip off a 60 yard punt. I mean, we were on the 20! Are we going to drive 80 yards (or 60 for a FG) on that defense in 90 seconds?

And to the Ute fans who rushed the field, get over yourselves. You narrowly missed being upset on national TV. You're #15, you should win games at home against unranked opponents. Just because you beat the team that beat USC doesn't mean you beat USC. That might be the worst reason to rush the field in college fooball history. Way to go Ute fans, you proved you're not one of the "big boys". In big boy football we only rush the field when we beat someone in the top 10 in the nation (and we're not in the top 10).

I can't believe we lost that game.

That was the best game I have seen in a long time. The Beavs losing is on top of my list every year. Its ok to watch beavs blow someone out but its great when they lose if the final seconds! Choke job, 3 and out they just needed to get a first down to keep the clock running. Suggestion never rely on your WEAK D to get you out of a jam!

Have fun getting killed in LA.

Losing on the road to a #15 ranked team is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than getting blown out by a WAC at HOME!

We NEVER lost to Boise St. at home. And that's when they were really good.

Suggestion: get your shots in now because you'll be quiet in Novenmber when the Beavs are pounding you in the Civil War!

I don't call a 5 point loss with a freshman who had never taken a snap before a blow out.

Only thing you beavs will be pounding is your pud while sitting home and everyone else is bowling.

BTW I would rather lose to Boise than Stanford. What a joke! Stanford? One more time, STANFORD.

Watch out your next game is even tougher. Those Cougs will probably put up at least 50 on ya!!!

I don't care if their fans rushed the field, and I don't think it shows a lack of class Jason. Let people have fun and enjoy a good win against a good Beaver team.

As for the game, we choked it at the end and that's that. Our field goal kicker is horrible and missing that first PAT was the beginning of the end. Did you see Riley shaking his head on the sideline, clearly non-believing? He decided then not to do another LSU. Kahut is Kaput.

We can get back on track by winning our conference games. I still think we can go to the Rose Bowl. Why not, the Pac is down and we're capable. The Ducks surely aren't.

OK "MDIYB". Sure, you ended with a flurry in the Boise St. game and the score *wasn't* a blowout in the end. But it sure looked like one for most of the game. Still an L.

That said, you've been written off. You've proven that you don't care to make an intelligent argument. You just want to flame. Please take it to the OregonLive forum where you can flame away at will.

Hey, I'm all for fun, but it seemed a bit over the top to me.

Will you rush the field when we beat the Cougs this weekend? If the students do rush the field, will that embarrass you?

I guess the answer to that question is where you draw the line. My line is where I stated it. Yours is lower. Thats OK.

I'm just saying that tOSU, Michigan, ND, Florida, Oklahoma wouldn't be doing that in the same circumstance. They play "big boy football". Utah isn't there yet in my mind.

And if they're #15, then we should be ranked because at worst we were even with them. And except for the final 2 minutes, we were better.

Duck fans are blaming their suckiness on an inexperienced QB again? Man, doesn't that ever get old?

They should sell t-shirts with a picture of the "Bellotti Grimace" on the front. What a badass. Nyuk.
