Beavs Win in Seattle

Sometimes a change of scenery can do you good. I mean I'm totally rejuvinated as a fan :). And it appeared to help Matt Moore and the team as well. That was a great win and an important win on the road back to a bowl game. The fans who made it to the game were great and it was actually...fun!

Here's why we have a shot of the rest of the season. First, the defense has been good these last two weeks for one reason: pressure on the QB. Sacks and TFL are huge in stalling the other team. The new guys (Butler, Smith, and Vea) are coming up BIG. Plus, that pushes the starters to keep improving or risk losing a job.

Second, the running game got rolling against UW. That wore down the Huskies and setup some long passes by Matt. We are at our best when the running game is a weapon.

I say well done by the coaches the last two weeks. First, Mark Banker sucked up his pride and added a Nickel package. That was at Coach Riley's prodding. Second, Riley put Canfield and Polk in the game to help rest the starters and to give the offense a different look. Both came in when the game was in the balance and gained valuable experience. Great job.

Next up Arizona on the road. There's nothing to look forward to except Arizona and getting revenge for last season.

Go Beavs!

Heading to Corvallis in for the USC game and will be following the Beavs real close. I wasn't expecting a tough game but with the way SC is playing and the really lousy play of our QB, I expect it to be tight. of course all eyes will be in Tucson this weekend to see if the Beavs are looking ahead to the Trojans

Hope you have a good time while you're up here. Well, maybe not too good :).

Yea, everyone in Beaverland is hoping that the Beavs repeat their UW performance against UA so we can start getting excited for the stretch run.

12:30 game ughh!!! I hate the early games

Actually I'm rooting for you against UA so that OSU will keep SC's attention (not that they shouldn't be paying attention to everyone the way they are playing) and keep focused on stopping your ground game.

Keys to an SC win will be stopping your ground attack. Right now that is a big challenge for us. The last three teams put up some good ground numbers on SC and those teams are not known for being running teams.

Offensively, I am going to guess that SC will try to pound it out on the ground for long drives. It appears that the confidence in Booty is dwindling and my guess is that getting the running game established will open it up for some confidence boosting passing attempts for Booty.

I hear ya. Time for the Bloody Mary tailgator...

I hope you're right about the running defense being a weakness. I'd really like to see a repeat of 2000 when Kenny Simonton ran wild over the SC defense and started what became a dream season.

USC has to lost ONE of these close games eventually!
