Lamar Herron should change positions to...

OK, so this is a little old but I wanted to make a comment about it.

Portland Tribune - On Campus

Lamar Herron, a part-time starter at safety and Oregon State’s kickoff return man as a sophomore this fall, is considering a transfer. Herron is upset he lost his starting job to true freshman Al Afalava midway through the season. OSU coaches were considering moving Herron to outside linebacker last fall, but he wants a shot at receiver.
First, I think Lamar is way too good of an athlete to let go. Just from his kickoff returns it's obvious there is some major potential for offensive prowess. Even his high school coach thought his worst position was defense. I've seen a lot of people suggesting that he switch to wide receiver. I say make Lamar a RB. Wide Receiver is much harder than running back. Sure Bernard is at RB, but there are a lot of talented WRs on the team already. Especially if Marcel Love is able to come back next season. WR routes can take a while to learn and not everyone can catch everything.

After watching Lamar return kick offs so well I think he is best when there are people in front of him that he can go around or through. He would be a perfect downhill runner. I think he could be a huge stud a RB. What do you say Coach?
